Chivalry is NOT Dead!

Years go by and decades come and go. With each new era there are improvements in technology, new fashions to be adorned, and always something to make our life easier. I feel lucky to not have lived the 'hard life' my grandparents or great grandparents lived...I never had to walk uphill both ways to school in the deep harsh snows of winter, but I have had to deal with the confusing changes in the way we communicate and relate with one another. I remember stories from my granny telling me about the boys who opened doors for her, wrote her long love letters, and held a deep respect for women in general. Men would pursue their love and women were appreciated for what they bring to a man’s life. It was just a different level of respect that we normally don't see today. I'm not quite sure why things changed or when they changed and I'm sure that some of the change can be blamed on both women and men. What I have discovered is that our world has changed and humans have evolved, but Chivalry is NOT dead.

1. I have a job during this recession - Many friends of mine are out of work.
2. I have a FANTASTIC relationship with my sister - Thank goodness I wasn't an only child.
3. My health - Never had braces, don't need glasses, I'm breathing, and I'm alive!
4. My education - Not only did I have the opportunity to go to college, but I also have a Masters!
5. My name - No one ever forgets.
6. My bad singing voice - I never tried chasing a singing dream ;)
7. Working out like crazy during college - Even though I don't work out like I once did, I have STRONG legs.
8. A few good years of surprise bonuses - Helped to create a nice stash of 'just in case' money.
9. A couple bad relationships - I have grown so much from each one.
10. My inner strength - I persevere every time and know that I can always get though any challenging time.

Watch out for the Swine Flu...

Letting Go...

When released, a Dove consistently is able to find it's way back home. People and love are never consistent. There is a saying that if you love someone set them free, if they come back it's meant to be.

I've let many loves go; some came back for awhile, some never did. And for 1 or 2 of the loves, I must admit, I wonder if I should have even let them go?
