Years go by and decades come and go. With each new era there are improvements in technology, new fashions to be adorned, and always something to make our life easier. I feel lucky to not have lived the 'hard life' my grandparents or great grandparents lived...I never had to walk uphill both ways to school in the deep harsh snows of winter, but I have had to deal with the confusing changes in the way we communicate and relate with one another. I remember stories from my granny telling me about the boys who opened doors for her, wrote her long love letters, and held a deep respect for women in general. Men would pursue their love and women were appreciated for what they bring to a man’s life. It was just a different level of respect that we normally don't see today. I'm not quite sure why things changed or when they changed and I'm sure that some of the change can be blamed on both women and men. What I have discovered is that our world has changed and humans have evolved, but Chivalry is NOT dead.
